KEEP CALM AND CARRION (first story)
Lily Morrow should be dead thats the long and short of it. The snowstorm, the trip to the cabin, the car crash. She was 7 years old when she was trapped in a crushed car with the dead bodies of her parents and baby brother, it took weeks for emergency services to find her and she was almost starved to death, almost. That's when the rumours started, the near dead child and the corpses that had chunks missing (the baby brothers body is untouched), it all spelled a story that the gossip hungry people of town were more than willing to spread. It got worse as Lily got older, now 18 and unnaturally tall and skinny, while an easy target for bullies, the other kids say that there's always something in lily's eyes that stops it from becoming physical, as if some primal instinct stops them. It doesn't stop Chad from inviting lily to a high school graduation party at his parents cabin in the mountains. When one of the others at the party emerge from the woods missing a chunk of flesh and babbling about a monster, everyone's eyes turn to lily. Lily isnt phased she knows whats in the woods, she knows that whatever is hunting her classmates is old primal and hungry, she also knows it's not the creature that saved her all those years ago, the strange tall bundled up man who ripped flesh off her parents bodies to keep her alive, she knew the rules he taught her to stay as human a possible

The rules kept her sane, it made people judge the girl who eat moldly food but it stopped her belly rumbling when she saw others get hurt. Now in a cabin surrounded by both a storm and people who think shes a threat, lily needs to protect herself while also defending her classmates from the thing that lurks.
(Horror story, folk tales, body horror, gore, corpse eaters (lily and bundled man), werewolves. Corpse eaters are similar to wendigos but only eat dead things and never kill to eat)
Lily, Penny and Marcus are in Marcus's car on the way to the party, Penny ask Marcus if Lily will be on official slap duty, Lily looks confused till Penny explains that at other parties that Lily didn't attend (Penny hates bringing up that Lily likely wasn't invited to other parties, though penny does apologise for her Bat Mitzvah when Lily was surrounded by middle aged to elderly women all trying to feed her, Lily admits she liked the Gefilte fish ) there have been times when alcohol and certain types of music have led some of the 'paler' classmates to think saying a certain N- word is ok , and in response they get a swift slap at the back of the head, Marcus emphasises that he did not start the slap duty thing but he understands the random violence comes from a place of love and in Pennys case chaos.
After the final fight with the werewolf, Lily is injured badly. She hears her parents voices and her baby brother crying. When she collapses in front of the cabin admist the voices of her family she hears
"...oh my god is she?...'
"MARCUS!! MED KIT!!.... blood.....everywhere"
"...blood pressure....I don't know if its normal"
"Gently.....move.....THATS NOT GENTLE!"
"Blankets...frostbite......it doesn't matter if they get bloody"
And she feels hands drag her into the warmth

Chad(Chadwick) Landon III- jock, host of the party, kind of a himbo, gives big golden retriever energy
Kate Prescott- head cheerleader, gets arm bitten off by werewolf, mean girl to love interest
Marcus Little- smartest in class, planning on going to medical school (Black), one of Lily's friends, often apologises when he finds himself trying to study Lily's unusual anatomy. Lily and Marcus sometimes nerd out about decay and mold cultures.
Penny Cohen - goth girl, lily's best friend, sometimes jokes about Lily being the more goth one, one of the class that doesn't treat lily like a freak, her mother was the sheriff at the time of the car accident when Lily was 7
Derrick Chen- Asian-American Chad's best friend, antagonistic towards Lily
Town is called Harrowfield
Style of horror media like the craft, ginger snaps, may, Jennifer's body, Lisa frankenstine, buffy the vampire slayer, until dawn, teen wolf, big wolf on campus, black hole high. Set in 2003. Could be stand alone story or first of a 'monster of the week' type series.
Story is set in Harrowfield, Montana
lily has frostbite injurys from taking her coat and scarf off to keep Daniel warm.
Frank died instantly in the crash
Tanya lasted a couple days
Daniel almost lasted a week
Lily's brother Daniel was 9 months old called Lily 'Lih Lih'
Her dad Frank called her lily pad
Her mom Tanya would tell her she had a 'sunshine smile'
Kate ends up with minor werewolf abilities
Not full transformation but small changes.
When investigating in the sequels the group jokingly call themselves the 'Cabin Crew'
Each story is ended with a 'case study' of the creature/event and a letter of what happened from lily to the bundled man

Morning after the cabin. Kate wakes to a body that isn't quite hers anymore, Lily hunts down the wounded werewolf alone, and the story closes with a case file and a letter to the man who taught her the rules.
