Theme: Fantasy combat that favors dark and tense atmospheres where everything feels like high stakes. Even in bright settings, the view angle is almost always angled to have backlighting or dramatic lighting. Jokes and skits have their moments, but are usually realistic and created between characters rather than catered toward the audience. It’s a romance novel with 18+ themes (gore, sexual themes, profanity).
World: Nadaka is a world full of desolate desert beyond the eye can see. Violent sand storms dominate the scene with few breaks in between of silence and stillness. Very rarely will you come across giant cities that separate people from the mysterious dangers that lurk within these deserts. Passing through the grand gate of one of these cities, you immediately notice the difference. The wind becomes a soothing breeze, the ground holds your weight and the smell of nature and life welcomes you. The majority of this story takes place in Titan City. One of the world’s biggest cities, with the strongest military. There are multiple classes of humans. Civilians are anyone who lives normal lives. There’s not much remarkable about them, spanning from butchers to accountants. Guards are basically higher class civilians with swords and armor. The “policemen” of cities. They help people cross the street, deescalate bar fights and fight off criminals within the city. Royal guard, however, are considered “military” powers. They are specially picked guards with inhuman fighting abilities. They are most easily identified by their brightly and intimidating glowing eyes that pierce through your soul with the tiny dots that are their pupils. Though not all, most are known to have stone cold hearts and attitudes due to their lack of empathy and hardships during early childhood having to train so hard. At the top are royals, or the “government” of cities. They’re simply the kings, queens and rulers of cities. Regular guards and Royal guards don’t often interact beyond personal interactions. The border is upheld by Royal guards, while the inner walls are protected by guards. Royal guards find their “ranking” extremely important. Being #1 is success, while being #1,000 means being mocked and looked down upon by fellow royal guards. At the pinnacle of combat skills, “who wins what” becomes a blur. It starts to depend on more than just skill like strategy, intelligence, weapon choice and countless other factors. The most common choice of weapon—guards and royal guards alike—is a longsword. Royal guards are almost never seen in anything other than armor or military regalia. Everyone stares in surprise when one is caught with civilian clothing.
Characters:
Malin (protagonist) - 22 year old woman with long dark brown wavy hair with short swept bangs. Her face is always a serious and intimidating frown with bright glowing orange eyes with black centers that pierce into anyone’s soul. Daughter of Titan City’s greatest Royal guard, General Haveron. Malin’s mother passed when she was born, leaving her an only child, the only heir to Haveron, causing him to combat train her harder than anyone can ever imagine. In the present day, she holds a stone cold heart behind locked doors that remembers nothing but a childhood of sword fighting and parental approval. Despite being the face of safety in Titan City, she is feared even by her own subordinates—rumors following behind her saying that nobody has ever seen her smile, or she’s a secret experiment guard built by the king. Her father is believed to be killed in action from being ambushed by a Great Red Dragon while out of the city. Her fighting style is known amongst her peers to be hyper-intelligent. Due to her build lacking strength, she excels in opponent prediction, untouchability and counterattacking.
Kyson (love interest) - 24 year old man with messy black hair. He rules over Titan City as the king and as Malin’s childhood friend. He has golden glowing eyes of a titan and carries himself with a confident smirk. He likes to hide his unending intelligence behind a flirtatious and playful personality, becoming liked by nearly all. His parents passed away early during a monster expedition outside the city, leaving the city in its entirety and its people to him. Ever since they were kids, he’s had a strong romantic attraction to Malin who never seemed to reciprocate. While he hasn’t directly seen the hardships Malin has went through, he’s seen the scars on her skin, the contortions of her expressions and the exhaustion in her gasps—the aftermath of every training session with her father. He is never seen engaging in combat himself unless it’s life or death.
Percy - A high ranking male Royal guard. He has bright pink eyes of wit and mischievous intention. Has shorter black hair. Has a cheery, playful attitude no matter how dangerous the situation. Likes to fight anyone from professional to amateur. Recruits and trains new trainees to become Royal guards. He looks up to Malin, wanting to be as good as her one day—often challenging her to friendly duels.
Seren - High ranking female royal guard known for her long silver hair and cloudy white eyes. She has a blunt, monotone attitude and is usually antisocial. She is also Malin’s roomate. Her blunt attitude makes her unlikeable by other characters, but she couldn’t care less.
