The elder led Kaelo through a towering set of carved roots into the heart of the rainforest, but what lay beyond was no primitive camp. Kaelo stopped dead in his tracks, his breath catching in his throat.
Sprawled across the vast valley was a breathtaking, ultra-futuristic metropolis seamless with the jungle itself. Massive skyscrapers forged from iridescent bio-glass and shimmering white stone soared into the sky, their surfaces draped in lush, cascading vertical gardens, hanging vines, and glowing flora. Sleek, silent energy transports glided along bridges made of living tree branches, powered by the natural energy of the earth. It was a sprawling, hidden mega-city—a sanctuary where high technology and untamed nature existed as one.
"Welcome home, My King," the elder said softly, gesturing to the endless city around them. "This is Zaire."
They brought Kaelo to the highest point of the city: an ancient, towering citadel crafted from petrified wood and luminescent crystal. Inside the grand armory, the high council gathered around him, preparing him for the impending war.
"You are not just a warrior, Kaelo," a high priestess explained as she strapped pulse-infused obsidian armor over his shoulders. "Everyone in Zaire possesses a unique gift—a magic bound to their spirit. Some control the wind, others weave light or shape the earth. But as the King, your power connects to all living things. There is still so much you do not know about yourself... including the ability to command and speak directly to the wild beasts of the world."
Kaelo felt the weight of his new title pressing down on him. Before leading his people into battle, he needed absolute clarity. He walked out to the central sanctuary of the ancient citadel, kneeling on the cool stone to pray. He closed his eyes, extending his consciousness outward into the endless green.
“Land of my ancestors,” Kaelo whispered into the wind, “give us the strength to protect our home.”
The forest answered instantly. A low, thunderous vibration shook the ground, and the calls of thousands of wild animals echoed back through the canopy in a massive, unified choir of support. He opened his eyes, now burning with pure, golden fire.
He stepped out to the grand balcony. Assembled below him was an elite army of thousands of Leopard Clan warriors, clad in their high-tech leather pelts, their unique magics humming through their weapons. Beside them stood the heavy vanguard—massive rainforest beasts ready to march at Kaelo's command.
The King of Zaire was ready for war.
