While the villagers see him as a burden and a disgrace, Rory secretly dedicates himself to finding a cure for a deadly disease threatening their community.
For years, the people around him judge him solely by his physical limitations, mocking and rejecting him without ever recognizing his intelligence, determination, or the sacrifices he makes for them. Unbeknownst to everyone, the boy they constantly belittle may be the very person capable of saving them all.
